Our Mission:
Helping each other can make the world better

The Ontario Council for Drones and Aviation Educators (OCDAE) is dedicated to representing, supporting, and advocating for drone and aviation education, educators, and students in Ontario. We are committed to ensuring that the evolving needs of local, national, and global aerospace communities are reflected in Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) and aviation education.

Through collaboration with industry leaders, regulatory bodies, and educational institutions, we aim to integrate cutting-edge RPAS and aviation technology into classrooms, fostering innovation, safety, and career-ready skills.

Our History

The Ontario Council for Drones and Aviation Educators (OCDAE) was established to support and unify educators in Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) and aviation education. As the demand for drone technology and aviation careers continues to grow, so does the need for dedicated resources, professional development, and advocacy. OCDAE bridges the gap between industry, regulatory bodies, and educators, ensuring that students receive safe, innovative, and industry-aligned learning experiences.

What We Do

OCDAE provides cutting-edge teaching resources, professional development workshops, and advocacy support for educators integrating RPAS and aviation into their classrooms. Through targeted seminars and networking opportunities, we help educators stay updated with Transport Canada regulations, safety best practices, and industry advancements.

At our Annual General Meeting (AGM), we showcase newly developed educational resources, gather feedback from members on challenges in aviation education, and determine areas where advocacy is needed at school board and government levels. Our committees then develop solutions to address these needs, ensuring that educators are equipped to deliver safe, high-quality RPAS and aviation education.

Beyond our events, OCDAE offers a strong online network, facilitating resource sharing, mentorship, and collaboration through virtual meet-ups, social media, and this website. Our executive team is made up of dedicated volunteers who work to support their colleagues in ensuring student success and excellence in aviation education.
